Giraffes and Harping

The Bridge

It’s always exciting when I get the opportunity to play at a wedding venue for the first time. This Sunday, Elaine and Andre’ got married at The Bridge

situated in the Muldersdrift area. The morning was cloudy and drizzling. Not a good sign for an outdoor wedding, however by the time I got there it started clearing up and ended up being a lovely sunny morning.

Here are a few of my favourites from the wedding.

My First Bridal Show

It has just dawned on me that I have played for some high profile events and corporate gigs, but have never played at a bridal expo. So when I received an invite to play at the Riverside Castle Bridal expo I was pretty excited.
The turnout was great and I handed out a lot of my business cards, like they say it’s all about marketing, marketing and more marketing. So for this year one of my New Years Resolutions is going to be ” Marketing”. Love the chapel at Riverside Castle, loads of light and the sound carries extremely well.

Short video clip to hear Greensleaves played on the Harp. Enjoy the mini clip.

Katherine Jenkins

11 March 2011.

An awesome start to the year was playing the harp with the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra for the Katherine Jenkins Concert at the Sandton Convention Centre together with Guest Artists Amaury Vassili, the Bala Brothers, and Romanze. I had no idea that Katherine Jenkins was so tiny, but what a wonderful person and singer! Highlights of the concert for me were the two harp solos in Angel and Halleluja sung by Katherine Jenkins.
